REGISTRATIONS All
kids will be registered with the Myotonic Goat Registry (MGR). The IFGA registration fee and/or transfer fees are the responsibility of the Purchaser.
*NOTE: Once the day of transport is scheduled and if the transportation leaves without the Buyer's animal/s on that load or plane because of something the Buyer has done, board will be charged from that day on until such time as animal is picked-up, put on with a livestock hauler or taken to the airport. Buyer is then also responsible for any vet fees, deworming and loss of the animal if it dies. If you want the date of sale to be the day that you paid for the animal in full then you are responsible for that animals care from that day on which will include a daily board fee until such time as transportation can be arranged regardless of who arranges the transportation. You will be responsible for any and all vet costs for that animal should it get sick or injured. Your money will also not be refunded if the animal dies.
For goats that are already registered
CANADIAN LAW states: "that the seller must provide registration papers to the purchaser within six (6) months of the date of sale." (see more at bottom of page) For NEW REGISTRATIONS - KIDS
For example kids born in 2008 - registration applications will be sent in to MGR no later than January 2009. Kids are
born mid April through to mid June with weaning of all kids taking place
in September. The
Registration Certificates will then be sent back to me from the MGR. *NOTE: You
must be a member of MGR in order to do any work with them.
CANADIAN
LAW states: The Canadian 'Animal Pedigree Act' is a Federal Law which specifies that: "If an animal is offered for sale as registered or eligible to be registered or is "offered for sale in a manner that is likely to create an erroneous impression the animal is registered or eligible to be registered", the seller must provide registration papers to the purchaser within six (6) months of the date of sale. Also law in Canada is that responsibility for registration & transfer of ownership lies with the seller - However with the way MGR is set up we cannot transfer ownership of the goat/s unless the new owner is a member of MGR. I sell goats to people who are not members and to those who are members. I am not about to pay for memberships for the people who are not members in order to transfer the goats into their name/s. If I can't transfer all the goats into all of the new owners names I won't do any - it is only fair. I had a discussion with the Directors of MGR about this and tried to get it changed so that I could transfer the ownerships. They had very good reasons to not change it and I respect those reasons. This is the registry in which my goats are registered and will continue to be exclusively registered with - I have to abide by their rules regardless of what our Canadian law says about transferring ownership.
